Auburn, NY — Finger Lakes Business Services, Inc. (FLBS) purchased the assets of Chatham Answering Service (Chatham), a service based in the Chatham, NY area. Chatham has been in business serving the Capital Region since 1982. The previous owner of Chatham has decided to leave the business due to medical issues.
Chatham is the 12th answering service acquired by FLBS. The company previously purchased operations in Auburn (NY), Ithaca (NY), Syracuse (NY), Oswego (NY), Rome (NY), Tampa (FL), Brandon (FL), Steamboat Springs (CO), Greeley (CO), Hotchkiss (CO), and Watertown (NY).
Gardner McLean, President of FLBS is pleased about the potential for the company and its customers: “We look forward to continuing the services of Chatham Answering Service and further grow it by providing additional offerings to its Capital Region clients. We’re handling their calls across our Auburn, Syracuse, Watertown and Tampa offices.”
Chatham’s clients will have no interruption in service and will benefit from Finger Lakes Business Services’ continued investment in new technology and focus on customer service. In June, FLBS was honored with the exclusive 2016 ATSI Award of Excellence for the 12th consecutive year, achieving a rank in the Top 10. The Award of Excellence is a program that provides independent testing of quality in customer service levels.
“We’ll be using more technology to manage their accounts, and the benefit will be that we now can offer the Chatham clients a broader array of options.” says Ray Schremp of Cicero NY who is Vice President.
“After signing a contract this summer, our staff worked swiftly with the management of Chatham to ensure that the transition of the call activity to the Auburn-based telephony system was seamless. All of our staff’s hard work paid off as the transition occurred without a hitch,” said McLean.
According to industry sources, this places Finger Lakes Business Services in the top 5% of all 3,000 answering services in the country in terms of size, with over 1,300 clients and 70 employees. Chatham joins existing call centers: Answer Finger Lakes, Answer Syracuse, Answer Watertown and Answer Bay Area under the AnswerUSA Group umbrella, a division of Finger Lakes Business Services, Inc.
