SYRACUSE
, NY —Finger Lakes Business
Services, Inc. (FLBS) today purchased the assets of Nunn’s
Communication Services, Inc. ( Nunn’s ), an answering service
based in Rome , NY . Nunn’s has been in business serving
the Mohawk Valley and Central New York since 1947. The previous
owners of Nunn’s have decided to focus their resources on
other business ventures.
Nunn’s
is the fourth New York State answering service acquired
by FLBS. The company previously purchased Ithaca Answering
Service in 2002, Communications Group in Syracuse in 2003,
and Executive Support Services in Oswego in 2006.
The
company previously purchased three out-of-state answering
services: Answer Bay Area in Tampa in 2009, the Communications
Center of Steamboat Springs, CO. in 2006 and Greeley Telephone
Answering of Greeley CO. in 2007.
Gardner
McLean, President of FLBS is excited about the potential
for the company and its customers: “We look forward to continuing
the solid performances of Nunn’s Communication and further
grow it by providing additional offerings to the Mohawk
Valley clients. We are handling their calls with our Syracuse
and Auburn offices, with our Tampa office available as backup.”
Nunn’s
was a full-service answering service located in Rome , New
York and was established in 1947. Nunn’s clients will
have no interruption in service and will benefit from Finger
Lakes Business Services’ continued investment in new technology
and focus on customer service. In June, Finger Lakes
Answering Service of Auburn and Communications Group of
Syracuse were both honored with the exclusive 2009 ATSI
Award of Excellence for the 5th consecutive year.
The Award of Excellence is a program that provides independent
testing of quality in customer service levels.

acquisition is the first since we have networked all three
of our offices together. We will be using more technology
to manage their accounts, and the benefit will be that we
now can offer the Nunns clients a broader array of options.”

signing a contract in late 2009, our staff worked diligently
with the staff of Nunn’s to ensure that the transition of
the call activity to the Auburn-based telephony system was
seamless. All of our staff’s hard work paid off today as
the transition went without a hitch,” said Gard McLean of
Skaneateles , NY .
According
to industry sources, this places Finger Lakes Business Services
in the top 3% of all 4,000 answering services in the country
in terms of size, with over 1,700 clients and 75 employees.
Nunns joins existing call centers: Finger Lakes Answering
Service, Communications Group, Communications Center of
Steamboat Springs, Executive Support Services, and Greeley
Telephone Answering under the Finger Lakes Business Services
corporate umbrella.
